Trail Description: Located in the Jefferson National Forest, this camp is two miles from the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail. Trails can be steep and rocky and around the next bend they can be wide and smooth. Some outgoing trails are on gravel road bed.

Primitive camping with permanent divided mens/womans outhouse and trash cans. Hitching posts and/or tie out poles for each site. Fee is $5.00/night. Stream water is available about 1000 yards from parking area. Long narrow open field with wood picnic tables and fire rings. Morning or afternoon shade available depending on what side of the field you park on. 2012 update - the rangers are checking for negative coggins on your horses/mules. They are flexible as to enforcement. They can let you off with a verbal warning, a written ticket, or expulsion of your livestock from the campground. Be nice if they ask and you are not prepared. Another update - there is an attempt to bypass quiet times at night by stating a medical need (sleep apnea) to run a generator all night long. This is not allowed! No generators after 10 PM. Campsites may be going to no generators at all or certain sections w/ no generators.
